Adding a media or other file to an item

Background

You can add a media or other file to the content or interaction block of an item. This can be an image, a video, an audio file or another file (such as a PDF or Word document).

Adding an image

  • You can upload an image from your own computer.

  • You can also add an image by URL.

    Tip: Make sure you use the proper image address, not for example the google address. Right click on the image you want to insert en select Copy image address.

Adding a video

  • You can add a video by URL.

Adding an audio file

You can select the audio file you want from your own computer.

Aligning the uploaded file

  • You can align (left, right, fill out and center) the media or other file using the text editor option Align.

To reposition the media or other file relative to the rest of your content, add a new content block to which you add the media. You can then move the content block to the required position. For more information, see Repositioning content and answer blocks.

Viewing the file name

As an author, you can see the name of the media or other file you uploaded in your item.
Example:

Proceed as follows to see the file name:

  1. Open your item.

  2. Click on the content or interaction block that contains your media or other file.

  3. Hover over the media or other file.
    Result: The file name appears.

Note: The file name is never shown in the assessmentQ player, as it may contain a hint for the solution.
