Removing metadata from items

Procedure for a single item

Proceed as follows to remove metadata from a single item:

  1. Go to Authoring > Items.
    Result: You see an overview of your items.

  2. Open the item from which you want to remove metadata.
    Result: The Item tab is opened.

  3. Open Metadata.
    Result:
    You see an overview of the metadata that have been added to the item.

  4. Click the Delete icon next to the metadata you want to remove.
    Result: The metadata key is removed from your item.

Procedure for multiple items

Proceed as follows to remove metadata from multiple items at once:

  1. Go to Authoring > Items.
    Result: You see an overview of your items.

  2. Open the folder that contains the items from which you want to remove metadata.
    Result: The list of items is displayed.

  3. Click on the bulk actions icon in the upper right corner.

  4. Select the items from which you want to remove metadata.

  5. Select the metadata icon at the bottom.

    Result: The Manage metadata pop-up opens.

  6. Select Remove metadata.

  7. Click mceclip1.png to select the metadata keys you want to remove.
    Result: The Select metadata keys pop-up opens.

  8. Open the metadata library of your choice and select the metadata key(s) that you want to remove and click OK.
    Result: You return to the Manage metadata popup which gives you an overview of the changes that will be made.

  9. Click Save.
    Result: The metadata have been removed from the items.
