Managing comments from the content review module

Updated over 2 months ago

Background

During the content review, reviewers will add comments to the items that are part of the review task. These comments are only moved to the item bank when the author closes the review task, not when the reviewer marks the review task as completed. So as long as the review task has the status "Live", no comments appear in the item bank yet.

Distinguishing comments from the item review from other comments

When they have closed a review task, authors will see the list of comments from the content review on the level of each item in the item bank. They can distinguish items that have been added in the item bank itself (e.g. by other authors) from comments added during the content review process by means of a small icon mceclip1.png in front of each comment:

Authors can then update the item and resolve the comments that the external reviewers provided, just as they would work with other comments. So once the review task has been closed, only the small icon distinguishes comments added in the item bank from comments added in the content review module.

Note: When an author replies to a comment, the reviewer will not see that reply, unless he also has access to the item in the item bank. When the review task is closed, communication with the reviewers is no longer possible.
