About resetting failed sign-in attempts

For security reasons, there is a maximum number of sign-in attempts in assessmentQ. After 10 incorrect sign-in attempts, the participant will see a notification and will have to wait 1 hour before signing in becomes possible again.

As an administrator, you can reset the number of sign-in attempts for a participant.

Procedure

To reset failed sign-in attempts for multiple participants, proceed as follows:

  1. Go to User management >Users.
    Result: You see the overview of the users in your assessmentQ environment. By default, the overview is filtered on active users (i.e. users who have access to your assessmentQ environment).

  2. Click on the table icon in the upper right corner of the users overview and select the column Failed sign-ins and click OK.

    Result: The column Failed sign-in attempts is added to the users overview.

  3. Click on the column header to sort the users by failed sign-in attempts.

  4. If you want to reset the sign-in attempts for multiple users:

    • Select the checkboxes next to the users for whom you want to reset the sign-in attempts. .

    • Click on the Reset sign-in attempts icon in the action bar at the bottom of the page.

      Result: The sign-in attempts are reset to zero. The participants do no longer have to wait to sign in again.

  5. If you want to reset the sign-in attempts for an individual user:

    • either click the three dots next to the user and select Reset sign-in attempts.

    • either click on the user to open the user detail page and click the Reset option.

      Result: The user's sign-in attempts are reset.
