Updating items in an assignment
If changes are made to items in the item bank after you added them to your assignment, the items in your assignment remain unchanged. In other words, changes made to the items in the item bank are not automatically applied to the assignment. In the item overview of the assignment, you will see icons to inform you that changes have been made in the item bank for items that are part of your assignment.
Updated items
You will see this icon when the version of the item in your assignment does not correspond with the version in the item bank.
For example, a typo has been corrected in the item in the item bank. As a result, a new item version is available in the item bank. Your assignment still contains the previous item version (without the correction of the typo).Unapproved items
You will see this icon when the status of the item in the item bank is no longer approved.
For example, the status of the item in the item bank has been changed back to draft or to be reviewed — in other words, the item no longer has the approved status. Your assignment still contains the approved version of the item.

Using example items
Example items are commonly used to allow users to become familiar with certain item types in an assignment. Their score is not taken into account for the user's total score, and they can have a separate time limit from the rest of the assignment.
Example items are always displayed first in an assignment.
When creating an assignment, you can turn certain items into example items, or turn example items into regular items again.
Procedure: turning an item into an example item
Proceed as follows to turn an item into an example item::
On the Items tab of the assignment, click the three dots next to an item.

On the Items tab of the assignment, click the three dots next to an item.
