Assignment type: exercise or exam
There are two types of assignments: exercises and exams. The distinction is made clear through the icons:
: Exercise
Exercises can be completed an unlimited number of times. This allows you to practise as often as needed.
: Exam
Exams can only be taken once. Once you have started or completed an exam, it cannot be retaken.
Notes:
Exams can be secured. Secured exams will show an additional icon:
. For more information on how to take a secured assignment, see Taking an exam in SEB.
In case your exam will be proctored, you will see a proctoring icon
next to your exam(s) on your schedule detail page. For more information, see Taking a proctored exam in assessmentQ.
Starting, resuming or restarting an assignment
You can find the exercise or exam icons next to each assignment on your schedule detail page, making it easy to distinguish between exercises and exams at a glance.
Depending on the status (not started, started of finished) and type of an assignment, you will see different action buttons.
Start button
You will see the Start button if you have not started the assignment yet.
Click Start to open the assignment in the assessmentQ player. A new session is created.
Resume button
You will see the Resume button if you have already started the assignment but have not finished it yet.
Click Resume to continue your existing session. You will return to the assignment with all your previously entered answers.
Note: An exam may be locked. If your exam is locked, you will not see the Resume button and will not be able to continue your exam. You will need to contact your exam supervisor to regain access.
Restart button
You will only see the Restart button for Exercise assignments. You can use it to start a new attempt. A new session is created, so your previous answers will no longer be available.
Note: If your schedule has expired:
The Start and Resume buttons are no longer available.
If a review period has been configured, you will see a Review button next to your assignment. Click Review to open the assignment in Review mode. In Review mode, you can view your answers and navigate through the assignment, but you cannot make any changes. For more information, see Reviewing your answers.
