Release notes assessmentQ 2026.01

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Introduction

This release introduces a new Onsite Exams monitoring experience, bringing a better overview, additional audit logs, and a more end-to-end exam flow.

It also enables advanced integrity features like CheatGuard, our real-time integrity assistant for supervisors, currently available through an early adoption program.

We’re also introducing ReadSpeaker WebReader, making the entire exam player accessible — including pop-ups and buttons — with flexible reading options for participants.

Finally, this release includes several accessibility and usability improvements to ensure a smoother experience for both your teams and participants.

🔥Must see

The most important updates in this release — changes that impact how you work with assessmentQ.

New Onsite monitoring

As a supervisor, you can monitor, intervene in, and review onsite exams in the new Onsite exams module.

You see all participants' sessions for which you are assigned as a supervisor from a single aggregated view. By default, sessions with most warnings appear on top of the list. You might want to take a look what’s happening there.

CheatGuard

CheatGuard is a real-time integrity assistant for supervisors. It adds an extra layer of security to onsite exams through real-time warnings, preventive exam controls, and logged exam events.

CheatGuard doesn't require anything to be installed on the participant's device. Participants who do not comply with the security measures will see a warning.

Note: CheatGuard is available as an early adoption program. Interested in early access? Reach out to our Customer Success team via [email protected] to enroll in the early adoption program.

ReadSpeaker webReader

We are proud to announce the integration of ReadSpeaker webReader into our assessmentQ player. ReadSpeaker webReader does far more than simply read text aloud. It provides powerful accessibility and comprehension tools, such as adjusting the reading speed, enlarging text, enabling a page mask, and many other features that allow users to personalize their listening experience.

Note: ReadSpeaker webReader will eventually replace the ReadSpeaker SpeechCloud API integration. More information will follow and there will be enough time to switch to the ReadSpeaker webReader integration.

Monitoring lane in Schedules

When creating or editing a schedule, you will notice that a new Monitoring lane has been introduced. In the Monitoring lane, you define the settings for your Onsite or Remote exams.

Smaller improvements and tweaks that make every day work smoother.

  • Setting the default passing score
As an administrator, you can define a default passing score for your assessmentQ environment.

  • Resetting failed login attempts
As an administrator, you can now reset the failed login attempts of a user via the user (bulk) actions, so you don't have to click through to the user detail page.

  • Changing the order of assignments in live schedules
Until now, it was not possible to change the order in which assignments in a schedule are shown to participants as soon as the schedule was live.
As of this release, schedulers can still adjust the order of assignments in a live schedule, provided that no fixed order has been set for the assignments in the schedule.
    More information

  • Session locked event in session history
Previously, when a session was automatically locked upon start (as a result of the assignment template setting or an API call), this was not shown in the session history. As of this release, the session locked event is displayed in the session history.
    More information

  • Standard calculator
When performing a calculation via keyboard (so not via the buttons in the assessmentQ calculator), the participant can now continue via keyboard input after solving.

✂️ What we removed (and why)

Some things had to go so we can continue improving security, reliability, and the overall experience.

  • Monitoring > Exams
With the introduction of the new Onsite exams monitoring module, the old monitoring module Exams has become obsolete. We invite you to explore the new monitoring module. For more information, see Monitoring onsite exams.

  • Taking a screenshot
All actions to intervene in a participant’s session that were available in the deprecated Exams monitoring module are now also available in the new Onsite exams monitoring module, with the exception of the option to ask the participant to take a screenshot.

  • SCORM
The module SCORM assignments has been removed from Authoring.
SCORM assignments in live schedules will remain available to the participants as well as the participants' results.
Please note that SCORM will reach end of life in the 2026.03 release.
